About the Workshop:
Come to discuss ways to help youth recover from the trauma of gun violence. Representatives from the Children's Institute REACH Project will share services and resources available to support our families.
About the Facilitators:
Karla and Eduardo are care coordinators for the Children's Institute REACH Project. Karla has a BA in psychology from Mount Saint Mary's University. She joined Children's Institute in March and previously worked with the Domestic Abuse Response Team providing crisis intervention for LAPD. Eduardo has a bachelor's in public health from UC Berkeley, with training in mental health first aid, community resilience and trauma informed-care. As a low-income immigrant from Mexico, he works hard to reduce the effects of adverse childhood experiences and to mitigate the effects of toxic stress.
